Powered Retracting-Steps Kit for Deere Combines
Left pic of Powered Retracting-Steps extended on John Deere combine. Rt pic of steps retracted on the combine.

Designed to make cab entry/exit easier and safer, a Powered Retracting-Steps Kit for Deere Combines replaces the straight ladder on selected models (see below). Each of the seven steps has a rise of 8.5 inches, with the first one being 8 to 11 inches from ground, depending on tire size and model. Running off the combine's 12-volt power system, the unit operates as follows: to access, one climbs the steps and flips the actuator switch on the top left handrail; once in the cab, the steps will automatically stop in the up position, ensuring clearance for headers, stalks and mud; to descend, the process is simply reversed, (The suppliers claim that the kit takes just 2-3 hours to install since the bolt-on unit uses the machine's factory mounting holes.)

Estimated Cost Cost range: $4,000
